About
People often ask how the name "Twiggy's" came about. Once upon a time, our mother worked in the Marine Room Bar at the Terre Haute House. At that time there was a very thin and famous model named Twiggy. Since our mother was on the heavier side, it was a fun nickname that her customers gave her. Twiggy's customers just loved her! She always had an endearing smile and greeted everyone with pure joy.
All her children, Carmen, Phil, Greg, Don, Dana, and Mike, grew up in the restaurant/bar business, so it was a natural fit for her son Greg to open Twiggy's and name it after her.
"Where is Twiggy today?" Well, she is still waiting tables; she is just a little higher on the food chain. She passed away in 1985. Her clientele has changed a bit too. Now she's serving her favorite crooners like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin!
So sit back, relax, and grab a slice of Sweet Lou's Pizza and a cold drink. You'll always be greeted with a smile at Twiggy's!
